On November 5, at the VIP Room of the Plaza complex in Buenos Aires, the Annual General Meeting of the local branch of POPAI (The Global Association for Marketing at Retail) was held.
After approvals memory, balance and other statutory issues of rigor, representatives of partner companies were dedicated to the most relevant theme of the evening, which was the election of the new Board of Directors will lead the organization over the next two years.
As a result of the election, Julio Miarnau, CEO of Micropack, was appointed president, a position he held until 2016.
During his tenure, he will be accompanied by Nicolás López Cano, Kimberly Clark, as vice president; Susana Barros, Cyon, as secretary; Victoria Podesta, of Encapa as Pro-Secretary; Martin Muchnik, Muchnik Design, was reelected as treasurer, like Frederick Smith, Core Group, as the first vowel; and as second and third member were elected Alan Napchan (Comecs) and Luis Gutierrez (Braun & Braun), respectively, two partners who will form the board of the Association for the first time.
The audit during this biennium will be the responsibility of Pancho Grinbank (Impulse POP), a veteran expert on the operation of the organization, elected as an auditor.
In a brief speech as the newly elected president, Miarnau pointed out the first things that he will boost; (a) to encourage to all members who want to participate, not only in general but POPAI of the board in particular and (b) to maintain fluidity, and to keep fresh and continuously active projects, actions and activities of the association.
Perhaps as a concrete sign of the spirit in which it seeks to imbue this management, the Assembly itself leads, with its plenary decision, the first two steps in this direction: first, the establishment of a Council Advisory will work permanently integrated into the Steering Committee, which shall consist of former presidents of POPAI and individuals whose professional career represents a contribution to the specific activity and the objectives of the entity. On the other hand, the implementation of a mechanism that will allow partners Steering Committee members in their professional activity or within their own companies, to participate on behalf of workshops aimed not understand the decisions statutorily reserved directors. Thus it seeks to expand the human capital involved in the concrete operational functioning of the institution immediately.
After the formal act, the day ended with a cocktail in which the welcoming atmosphere reigned.
